Things to do in South Lake Tahoe

Sitting 6,000 feet above sea level, the pristine Lake Tahoe boasts more than 300 days of sunshine per year. With breathtaking scenery of crystal clear lakes, snow-peaked mountains, and lush forests, Lake Tahoe is a year-round destination for all travelers.

Beaches

Only oceans have beaches, right? Think again. With 72 miles of shoreline, Lake Tahoe has its share of real beaches. Some Tahoe beaches even come complete with sunbathers, volleyball players, and sun umbrellas. Others are far from the hustle and bustle, reachable only by a rigorous hike or kayak.

Biking

Lake Tahoe has many trails suitable for all riders, whether bike, road, or mountain. There are a multitude of road and organized rides around the lake, as well as mountain bike trails.

Concerts and Events

During the summer, South Lake Tahoe attracts some of the biggest names in music to perform at local casinos. On July 4th, we rent a Pontoon and take up to 12 of our guests out to view the fireworks on the lake from the best vantage point.

Craft Beer Crawl

The art of craft beer has taken the nation by storm and Lake Tahoe has joined the ranks. In recent years, new breweries have been popping up all over town, displaying unique and signature taps.

Fishing

Our captains are experienced in trolling, drifting, and jigging, and they’re here year-round to guide you to the lake’s hot spots. We supply everything you need to fish and offer two departure times per day for both public and private charters!

Gliding

On the Soaring Nevada Big Sky Ride, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the Carson Valley and the surrounding mountains. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the magnificent landscape from 3,000 feet above the ground.

Golfing

The Tahoe South region has six distinctive golf courses, each with its own vibe and views. Whether you’re a fan of argyle or tie-dye, you’ll find a green where you feel at home.

Hang Gliding

Take an interactive flight lesson in a powered hang glider, also known as a Weight-Shift Control Trike. This FAA-approved light-sport aircraft features a modern hang-gliding wing, very much like a traditional hang glider, but powered by a reliable Rotax aircraft engine.

Hiking

Vikingsholm

Vikingsholm is in Emerald Bay and is the setting for one of the first summer homes at Lake Tahoe. It is considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States.
